Detail InformationEdit
The precious little church was consecrated to Saint Aegydius on April 11, 1189.
Over the centuries this wonderful church has been ranking among the number one topics in town. In the past the church was famous among traders and crusaders (have a look at the epigraphs in the interior) due to its convenient location on the road to Pyhrn Pass and the bridge over the river Traun.
St. Aegydi was built in Gothic style. The north-facing walls feature beautiful statues of Saint Lambert, Saint Isidor and Saint Rochus. On the southern wall an outstanding statue of Saint Sebastian can be found. The entire pulpit was donated to Thalheim by Maxwald from Wels in 1678. In 1976 Lydia Roppolt, an artist from Oberwang, created the colorful glass windows.
