Saharna Village renowned for its natural beauty and Holy Trinity Monastery is one of the leading tourist destinations in Moldova. Located just 110 km from Chisinau along the banks of Nistru River, the scenic village attracts tourist towards its serene atmosphere and cozy ambience. The village is an ancient one having been inhibited since 2nd century BC. The Holy Trinity Monastery in Saharna Village built during the second half of 18th century is one of the top centers of pilgrimage in the country.
Every year thousands of tourists and pilgrims alike visit this monastery for offering prayers and taking part in the religious ceremonies. Grimidon, the highest rock in the area is considered as sacred, because it is believed that the footprint on top of the high cliff is that of St. Maria. Besides this, the area is dotted with some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire country. The waterfall located close to the monastery and known as Gipsy Hole is one of the most beautiful ones.
