Russell is that the most thickly settled town in and seat of Russell County, Kansas, us. The primary discovery oiler in Russell County was trained west of Russell in 1923. Associate oil boom ensued and lasted through the Nineteen Thirties, attracting settlers from Sooner State and TX. Crude oil production became a staple of the native economy.
