Rupa Lake is that the third biggest lake in Pokhara valley of Nepal and at an altitude of 600 m (1,969 ft) covering space concerning 1.35 km2 with a mean water depth 3 m and most depth 6 m. The lake is elongated north to south and is fed by perennial streams. Its watershed space is 30 km², wherever the most influx of water is from Talbesi stream, whereas Dhovan khola is that the feeder stream with its outlet Tal khola at Sistani stairs. It supports variety of floral and faunal species. a complete of thirty six species of waterbirds are recorded within the lake that represents concerning 19 % of the entire 193 wetland-dependent birds found in Nepal. Rupa lake is that the second main business attraction once Begnas Lake outside the Pokhara town. It provides enough house for water travel experiences for national and international guests. Cage culture also as pen culture are practiced in Rupa lake for fish farming. Farmers within the Kaski district of Nepal have fashioned the Rupa Lake Rehabilitation and Fisheries Cooperatives restricted to assist defend the watershed.

Taxi : Taxies are also availble here from railway station and airport.

Bus : From Kathmandu : Tourist buses (NPR600-900, 6-7h) and crowded local buses/microbuses (NPR400-600, 6-7h) travel the 200km journey between Kathmandu and Pokhara almost every 15 minutes starting at 07:30 through late afternoon. Night buses are available, but the ride is painful. Greenline operates a convenient bus every morning between the popular tourist areas of Thamel in Kathmandu and Lakeside in Pokhara (USD20, lunch included).
From Sunauli and the Indian border : Buses are available from the border town of Sunauli (NPR280-380, 8h). travel to the nearby town of Butwal, you will have more options for travelling to Pokhara. A 12-seater vehicle will cost around NPR5,500 from Butwal to Pokhara.

Air : Nearest Airport to Pokhara is Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International airport in Nepal. There are flights to Kathmandu from around the globe. Within Nepal, most areas are connected by air, even though some by small aircrafts on little runways. Taxies and local transports are availble from airport to reach pokhara.

Others : By Foot : Pokhara is a fairly small city and can be easily traversed on foot. Walking is necessary to get to places where vehicles or bicycles can’t reach.

By Local Transport : Minivans operate on most of the popular routes. These are crowded and uncomfortable but the fare is cheap and student discounts may be offered.

By Bicycle : Bicycles are available on rent in a lot of shops in Lakeside at NPR 100-300 per day.

By Motorbike or Scooter : Scooter or a motorbike are also availble in Lakeside at NPR550+ Per day. You will have to buy petrol (NPR120/litre).
