The Roosevelt Lodge Historic District includes the realm round the Roosevelt people the northern a part of Yellowstone park, close to Tower Junction. The district includes 143 buildings travel in size from cabins to the Lodge, engineered starting in 1919. The Lodge was 1st planned as a field laboratory for college kids and educators conducting analysis within the park. It later became a camp for tourists, specifically designed to accommodate automobile-borne tourists. The Lodge could be a simplified version of the park Service Rustic vogue.
The location is near the acknowledged campsites of U.S. Presidents city A. Arthur and President Roosevelt. In commemoration of Roosevelt’s 1903 visit, a tent camp referred to as Camp Roosevelt was came upon by the Elinor Morton Hoyt Wylie Permanent habitation Company.
The lodge was inbuilt 1919, and with the close supporting buildings inbuilt sequent years, was planned to grant the atmosphere of a resort.
The Roosevelt Lodge is found close to Tower Junction on the Grand Loop Road, that is itself a National Historic District.
