The town of Roing is located in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. This town has something for everyone, from nature lovers and anthropologists to archeologists and also adventure tourists. This destination lies in the Roing-Mayundia-Anini route and is a popular tourist attraction. There are two historical ponds in the regions of Itapukhur and Padum Pukhuri. These ponds are also must visit locations, especially during the winter when many lotus flowers bloom in the pond. The Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, which is located near the Mehao lake, around seventeen kilometers away from Roing, is another popular tourist destination along with the cave temple of Kupunli.

How to ReachEdit

By Air : Helicopters run by the department of civil aviation will fly from Dambuk, Anini and Pasighat to Roing. These can also be taken in order to reach Roing, with minimal fares.

By Train : Trains will be available till the railway station in Tinsukia, which is the nearest railway station to Roing. This place is located at a distance of around 113 km from Roing, and has regular trains from the cities of Guwahati, Chennai, New Delhi and Dibrugarh Town. The many trains that pass through this station are Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express, Dibrugarh Express, and Intercity Express. These trains will charge fares of around Rs 2,245 from New Delhi to Tinsukia for third tier AC coaches. First class coaches will have fares of Rs 4,795. Second class coaches will charge fares of Rs 2,880. Trains from Chennai will charge fares of Rs 598 for the basic class of travel.

By Bus : rivate and government buses are available from all cities of Arunachal and from Guwahati in Assam to reach Roing. There is direct Arunachal Pradesh State Transport (APST) bus service from Tinsukia to Roing. The frequency of the government buses is not too often and hence they are overcrowded. The buses need maintenance and it is advisable to travel by private buses as they are more comfortable. The best option is however to hire a private vehicle with a local guide who has enough knowledge about the place and the security measures to be followed.
