Rodanthe is AN unorganized community placed in Dare County, North geographic area, on Hatteras Island, a part of North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Rodanthe, in conjunction with Waves and Salvo, ar a part of the settlement of Chicamacomico. Rodanthe includes the initial Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station, decommissioned in 1954, however currently a depository. Rodanthe is served by North geographic area route twelve that runs north/south through city. The Chicamacomico space is boxed to the north by Pea Island NWR and to the south by cape NS, a scenario that limits potential growth. The city is boxed by the ocean to the East and also the Pamlico Sound to the West.
