Detail InformationEdit

The Robotic satellite Observatory (ROLO) was associate degree astronomical observatory funded by independent agency and settled at the u. S. Earth science Survey Flagstaff Science field atop McMillan Mesa in Flagstaff, Arizona. Its purpose was to change the Moon to be used as a radiance activity supply for Earth-orbiting remote-sensing artificial satellite.
The program ceased observations in September of 2003, however the ability is maintained for activity and instrument characterization functions. It consists of 2 twenty cm (7.9 in) Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes connected to associate degree equatorial mount created by DFM Engineering. One telescope is fitted with a sensing element optimized for visible and near-infrared (VNIR) wavelengths, whereas the opposite is tuned to short-wavelength infrared (SWIR). The VNIR camera began operations in 1995 and therefore the SWIR camera in 1997.
