River read site within the southwest section of Portland, Oregon, u. S., may be a non-profit site supported in 1882. It’s the ultimate resting place of the many outstanding and notable voters of Oregon, together with several governors and u. S. Senators. Different notable burials embody the Weinhard family, jock Lyle Alzado, associated Carl Mays the player World Health Organization killed an opposing player with a dig in a serious League game, and noted western shielder Virgil Earp.
River read site was supported as a non-profit site by William S. Ladd, James Terwilliger, Henry Failing, Henry Corbett, Henry Pittock, Simon Benson, et al in 1882. All people who joined co-owned the site. In 1902 a utterance sculpture was supplementary to honor the one hundred sixty five Oregonians that died within the Spanish-American War. The primary adult burial was Dr. Chemist Watkins. Within the Forties a a hundred thirty five person chapel was supplementary, designed by Pietro Belluschi.
Overlooking the Willamette, the site contains a style of mausoleums together with the summit Garden sepulcher and Main sepulcher. There also are non-public mausoleums and crypts. Stream read is associate endowment care site as outlined by the state of Oregon.
