The Río Plátano region Reserve is five,250 km² of preserved land within the La Mosquitia region on the Caribbean coast of Republic of Honduras. Most of the land runs on the Río Plátano. The reserve contains a range of species and a few of Republic of Honduras largest sections of forest. It’s been a World Heritage web site and region reserve since 1982. The reserve encompasses each mountainous and lowland tropical forest, packed with numerous life and flora, and has quite 2000 inhabitants. The reserve is an element of the Mesoamerican Biological passageway that stretches from North American nation southward trough Central America.
Although the reserve covers an oversized portion of Republic of Honduras, little is recorded regarding the biological diversity among it. Whereas previous management plans have well-tried winning, a continuing investigation into current management plans and future conservation problems are going to be necessary to stay this valuable reserve safe. Presently there square measure threats to the conservation of the reserve that embody illegitimate searching, work and clearing of land to graze oxen. Recent rafting expeditions from the urban center Platano root through all 3 zones of the reserve (cultural, buffer and core)have documented oxen grazing within the core zone,commercial fishing and searching camps on the watercourse and clear cutting of forest close to Las Marias.
