Ringsted, a city in Ringsted municipality, is in the middle of the Danish island of Zealand. The municipal population is about 31,000 and the city population is 21,151 (1 January 2011). Ringsted is approximately 60 km from Copenhagen. Today, Ringsted is a modern town and a commercial hotspot on Zealand. The town is near the E20 highway, which goes towards Copenhagen and Jutland, making Ringsted a traffic hotspot as well. Various cultural activities, based mainly around the Ringsted Kongrescenter, attract visitors from all over Denmark. Big names play here – both Danish and foreign.
