Ridgecrest, at one time called Crumville, was incorporated as a town in 1913. It’s settled within the Indian Wells vale in northeastern Jerome Kern County, California, adjacent to the service Air Weapons Station China Lake (NAWS, or China Lake). Ridgecrest is that the solely incorporated town on United States of America 395 in Jerome Kern County. The population was twenty seven,616 at the 2010 census, up from 24,927 at the 2000 census. The town of Ridgecrest could be a for the most part “company” familiarized (China Lake, above) community sufficiently big to supply many colleges, searching and health care.
Ridgecrest is encircled by four mountain ranges; the Sierra Sagebrush State on the west, the Cosos on the north, the Argus vary on the east, and also the urban center Mountains on the south. It’s just about eighty two miles (132 km) from the Lancaster/Palmdale space and just about a hundred forty five miles (233 km) from each city and San Bernardino, the 3 nearest major urban centers. Air in and out of the town is provided through the Inyokern airdrome.
