Ridgecrest, erstwhile referred to as Crumville, was incorporated as a town in 1913. It’s settled within the Indian Wells depression in northeastern Jerome David Kern County, California, adjacent to the service Air Weapons Station China Lake (NAWS, or China Lake). Ridgecrest is that the solely incorporated town on United States 395 in Jerome David Kern County. The population was twenty seven,616 at the 2010 census, up from 24,927 at the 2000 census. Town of Ridgecrest could be a mostly “company” familiarised (China Lake, above) community large enough to produce lots of colleges, looking and health care.
Ridgecrest is encircled by four mountain ranges; the Sierra Nevada on the west, the Cosos on the north, the Argus vary on the east, and therefore the El Paso Mountains on the south. It’s or so eighty two miles (132 km) from the Lancaster/Palmdale space and or so a hundred forty five miles (233 km) from each city and San Bernardino, the 3 nearest major urban centers. Air in and out of town is provided through the Inyokern landing field.
