“The Richmond River Historical Society Museum is considered to be one of the best places to know about the original Bundjalung culture and the lifestyle of these people. RRHS Museum is also a research center which is visited by many a research scholars in the region. The museum effectively features those things that are related to the Bundjalung aborigines who are the actual owners of this land. It also has sections dedicated to the region’s flora and fauna as well as the geology.
The massive display of local native timbers in the main hallway of the museum are devoted to that part of history wherein Richmond had an early dairy industry as also the cedar logging. Some of the sections display the aboriginal culture, industry of those times, natural history of the region, pioneering efforts and also the shipping of that time. RRHS also features the domestic utensils used in those early days that give an insight in to the lifestyle of the early settlers.”
