The Rice Northwest depository of Rocks and Minerals may be a non-profit depository in Hillsboro, Oregon, us. Situated simply north of the Sunset main road on the northern fringe of Hillsboro, the world museum is within the Portland metropolitan space. Opened in 1997, the depository’s collections date to the Thirties with the depository housed in an exceedingly home designed to show the rock and mineral collections of the museum founders. The ranch vogue house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the primary of its kind listed in OR.
The depository sits on twenty three overgrown acres (9.3 ha), with the most building containing seven,500 sq. Feet (700 m2) of house. Collections embrace petrified wood, varied fossils, fluorescent minerals, meteorites, zeolites, and a range of different minerals. With quite twenty,000 specimens, the depository is that the largest of its kind within the geographic region. The power has around twenty five,000 guests annually, several of whom ar on faculty tours.
