The fort in Rajmachi can be considered as two forts, one each in both the peaks. The fort is constructed to have an overview of the konkan region down. Rajmachi is renowned for trekking; one can trek from the Tungarli Lake region to Rajmachi through the breathtaking rocky natural trek routes. The ancient caves known as Kondhavi enclosed by the Rajmachi fort offer a nice view of the ancient creative architecture on rocks. The location is surrounded by undulated hilly regions and lusting greeneries offered by dense forests surrounding the city. Ulhas River offer a great charm to the city and many tourists like to have a nice bath in the cool and unpolluted river. Many enthusiastic tourists visit Rajmachi to have an enjoyable forest and fort visit. The flora and fauna in the wild regions are highly worthy and one can see many wild life animals in the wild life sanctuary in Rajmachi. The Rajmachi area is not much explored, but presently many new concrete buildings have already come up and deforestation makes a threat for the flora and fauna of Rajmachi wild forests.

Rajmachi is a small village in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri in India. Rajmachi Fort is famous for trekking. The beautiful place is has exotic natural locations as well as it is a historic site.Near Kalbhairavnath Temple, there is some space that can be used as a campsite. Those who do not want to stay outside can stay inside the temple. There is a tank, which is 100m away on a path to the left of the temple, water is available here. One has to cook his own food or buy some village-made food of Bhakri and Chutney. Once the trekkers reach the fort, one will realize that the climb was really meaningful.

By Air : The nearest airport is Pune airport, which is at distance of 70 km from Rajamachi town. Pune is connected to Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore by air. Major international airport near to Rajmachi is Mumbai Chatrapati Shivaji International airport. This is at a distance of 120 km away from Rajnachi. Tourist taxis cost about Rs 2500 to Mumbai and Rs 1500 to Pune from Rajmachi.

By Train : Lonavala railway station, which is only 7 km from Rajmachi, lies in the main railway line between Mumbai and Pune. Many express trains between Mumbai and Pune stops here. Lonavala is connected to all major railheads through Mumbai and Pune.

By Bus : State owned buses connect nearest cities with Rajmachi. Any tourist service providers arrange package tours by A/C deluxe buses to Rajmachi from Mumbai and Pune. They charge about Rs 4 per km in these A/C luxury buses.

By Taxi : Taxis can also be taken from the city of Pune, and these will cost you around Rs 15 per kilometer. This is the best mode of travel that you can opt for, although it is quite costly.

By Other : Auto rickshaws also ply from Pune to Rajmachi, and these can be costlier than buses. However, you can travel in a more comfortable way and can make sure that you reach Rajmachi faster. Travelling to Rajmachi through an auto rickshaw will cost you around Rs 200 to 250 through an auto rickshaw. Auto rickshaws in Pune run on meter, however, they run to Rajmachi only on fixed rates, so it is better to negotiate with the driver before boarding one.
