Quispamsis could be a Canadian city situated in Kings County, New Brunswick. It’s situated twenty kilometres northeast of Saint John, within the lower Kennebecasis stream vale. The name is historically pronounced with a weak stress on either the primary or last language unit. Newscasters and voice actors WHO haven’t visited can generally place a robust stress on the second syllable; this sounds barbaric to some older residents.
The original inhabitants of the world were the Maliseet 1st Nation, a part of the Algonquin Federation[citation needed]. The name, “Quispamsis” was translated from the Maliseet language and suggests that, “little lake within the woods”, the lake being current Ritchie Lake. Acadians, British pre-Loyalists and Loyalists settled within the space around 1783, with several receiving land grants on the Kennebecasis and Hammond Rivers.
Quispamsis amalgamated in 1998 with the close communities of Gondola purpose and Wells to make the current city, covering a locality of sixty km² and bordering the city of Rothesay to the southwest with the Hammond stream on its northeastern boundary. Quispamsis is that the quickest growing city within the province of recent Brunswick.
