Pulwama is a small town that is located in the Srinagar district of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The town is famous for its numerous apple orchards and one can see them in and around the town. The town of Pulwama is scenic and is fast becoming a popular tourist destination. There are a few places that one can visit in the area and these include many waterfalls, natural springs and scenic valleys.There are few temples that are located in the region and the main one is the Asar Shareif Pinjoora temple. This is located around 12 km away from the town and is worth a visit. Other places of interest include the Payer Temple, and Kungwattan, Kaunsarnag and Aharbag Falls. During the winter one can also experience activities such as skiing in the region. Mountain climbing and trekking are also popular activities in the area during the summer months.

Pulwama is a district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.The region is being promoted as a haven for adventure enthusiasts and many new places are coming up in and around the town. There are many picturesque lakes, streams, river, forests and meadows that are located in the region and these are good places to drive around. One can visit the numerous orchards after obtaining permission from the owners.

By Air : If you are planning to arrive by air, the best option is to hire a taxi after landing at the Srinagar airport. The airport is reasonably well connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Jammu, Bangalore and a few other cities. Taxis are available at the airport and they cost around Rs 800 for the trip to the town of Pulwama.

By Train : The closest railhead is located at Jammu and this is situated around 340 km from the town. Jammu has good connectivity to a few cities by rail and this is good option. Tickets are affordable as well. Second class tickets from Delhi to Jammu cost around Rs 260. You can hire a taxi from the railway station to the town and they cost around Rs 7 per km.
