Detail InformationEdit

The community of Piberbach has always belonged to the parish of Kematen that was founded in the year 1179. Most of the rural commune of Piberbach sill is part of the parish of Kematen, the hamlet of Weifersdorf belongs to the parish of Neuhofen an der Krems and the hamlet of Pellndorf to the parish of Schiedlberg.
Castles and nobilities have brought about a certain sovereignty and autonomy to the two rural communes of Piberbach and Kematen; however the status of the united parish was never changed. A reason for this unusual bond can be seen in the fact that Piberbach has no Catholic Church on its territory.
The matter of affiliation never was of importance in the sacred life of the communities. The faithfulness and the loyalty of Piberbach´s residents to the parish of Kematen has always been exemplary and this will be true for the future as well.
