The Praca 15 de Novembro or the Square 15 November is a public park situated between the public station of Barcas , the Street March 1 , the Arco do Teles and the Imperial Palace in the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro , in Brazil . The square, until the early twentieth century, was the main point of entry and landing in the city. At the site of the old Market Hall, stands today, the modern building of the Stock Exchange of Rio de Janeiro . In the 1950s, it was built to Perimeter Avenue , which, linking the Avenida Presidente Vargas to Parque Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes , crossed the site.
