Porter could be a city in Westchester administrative district, Porter County, Indiana, u. s.. The population was four,972 at the 2000 census. Porter is noted for its proximity to the Hoosier State Dunes State Park and for its railroad heritage. Porter was the southern terminus for the Chicago and West Michigan Railway.
