Point Leamington is a small community of about 650 people located north of Botwood and Grand Falls-Windsor. The town is located on the shores of Southwest Arm, New Bay. Many residents commute daily to Botwood, Bishop’s Falls, and Grand Falls-Windsor for full time work. Others work seasonally in Alberta. The town is serviced by only a few businesses. Groceries can be purchased at Andrew’s Supermarket, Paul’s Convenience, or MNM One Stop. The town has the last gas stations on Route 350: Western Petroleum (MNM One Stop) and Will’s Gas and Repairs. Children from the community attend Point Leamington Academy, which teaches k-12 students from Point Leamington, Pleasantview, Leading Tickles, and Glover’s Harbour. Church denominations in the town include the Salvation Army, Pentecostal, and the United Church.
