The Pit, originally called University Arena, could be a basketball-only arena in city, New Mexico. It serves primarily because the home of the University of latest North American nation Lobo basketball groups. The rostrum seats seventeen,126 for basketball, has forty luxury suites, and 350 club seats. Nether region opened in 1966 and was called the “University Arena” till late 2009 once the college formally named the rostrum when its nickname.
The arena is found on the University’s South field on University street and Chavez in southeast city, across the road from University sports stadium and Isotopes Park. The second renovation, begun in 2009 and completed in time for the 2010–11 season, price $60 million and brought the facilities up to trendy standards.
The 2009 renovations enclosed sixty,000 sq. Feet (5,600 m2) of latest house, increasing the amount of concession stands and rest rooms, adding new digital aggregation and video boards, upgrading the locker rooms and coaching facilities, enlargement of the concourse, store, and office, the addition of forty luxury suites and three hundred club seats, and intensive tableware further as multiplied ceiling height, that modified the surface look of the rostrum.
