The town of Pilibhit is located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. There are many important religious places located in the town of Pilibhit, and the most popular ones among them are the Jama Masjid, the Gauri Shankar temple, the Dargah e Shahji Miyan, the Jaisantri Devi temple and the Ardhanarishwar temple. The Gauri Shankar temple is a prominent pilgrim and tourist destination, and this temple is around 450 years old. There are many fairs that are organized in this temple, during the time of Shivratri and also during Raksha Bandhan. The temple has two huge entry gates that face the eastern end of the temple and the southern end as well. You can also visit the famous Pilibhit tiger reserve, which houses twelve male and twenty two female tigers.

Pilibhit is a city and district in Uttar Pradesh. Pilibhit is the north-eastern most district of Bareilly division, situated in the Rohilkhand region of the sub-Himalayan Plateau belt on the boundary of Nepal, known for the origin of river Gomati and one of the most forest-rich areas in North India. Pilibhit was once known as Hafizabad, derived from the name of the great Rohella leader of the area Hafiz Rahmat Khan, but eventually it took its present name from a nearby village. Pilibhit has been geographic and political cynosure as it is the only forest area amid the 22 districts and the only district that has an international border in Harit Pradesh, which is proposed to be carved out of Uttar Pradesh.

By Air : There are flights that can be taken to nearby airports, and the nearest airport in this case is located in the city of Lucknow. The airport in Lucknow has frequent flights from Dubai, Riyadh, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Sharjah and local destinations like Patna, Hyderabad and Varanasi. Air fares will range between Rs 3500 to Rs 6000 for domestic flights.

By Train : Trains are the most comfortable mode of travel that you can opt for while visiting Pilibhit. Trains charge fares that are lesser than those charged by buses, however, the travel will more comfortable and cozy. Tickets should however be booked well in advance (two months) in order to travel through trains. Trains from Pilibhit will run to the capital city of Lucknow, and also to places like Nainital in Uttarakhand. Pilibhit is also connected to the city of Agra through trains. Trains from the city of New Delhi can be taken till the railway station in Bareilly, from where you can either opt for buses to Pilibhit or local meter gauge trains. Trains to Pilibhit from Lucknow will charge fares of Rs 138 for the basic class of travel, and air conditioned coaches will have fares of Rs 487. Trains from Bareilly to Pilibhit will charge fares of around Rs 120.
