Phulwari Sharif is known as the ancient hub of Sufism, and was frequented by many legendary Sufi saints. The Sufi saints of the ancient times had made Bihar one of the headquarters of religious, social, and cultural developments. Likewise, Phulwari Sharif became a preferred location of the Sufi saints who spread their message of love and toleration. It has the famous Sangi Masjid which has a rich architectural past and is built in red. Near the mosque is a shrine of Lal shah baba.
