Phuentsholing is a beautiful small town where the Buddhism first took hold in Bhutan. This picturesque town is situated in the east-central part of Bhutan in the Chukha Dzongkgag, which holds numerous monasteries and apple grooves. This place provides a fascinating mix of cultures of the Indian Bhutanese people and is also the getaway to Southern Bhutan from Indian state of West Bengal. The border evidently divides two very different peoples and cultures. The Amo Chuu or the Torsha River here is best to go sightseeing and is a popular spot for picnic and fishing in the area. The Crocodile Breeding Centre is located on the banks of the river is also a good place to visit in the city. Kharbandi Gompa is a garden monastery here and Zangtho Pelri is a small temple in the center of Phuentsholing town.
