Detail InformationEdit
The parish church Drossendorf, also called Old Church, is a Roman Catholic church in the city-parish Drossendorf Zissersdorf. The church stands in the old town and, together with parsonage and cemetery enclosed by a wall.
Accordingly, the previously existing parish was incorporated in 1153 by the Geras. 1517 an consecration of the choir is reported, in 1597 the steeple was erected. In contrast to the existing church was the original church built in Gothic style, the remains are in the form of a Gothic tabernacle (1515) left of the altar in the choir and the late-Gothic south portal will. In 1620 and 1645 the church was destroyed in the Thirty Years’ War and then as a three-nave church with a nave with a higher common roof (Season Church) was reconstructed. During the Baroque style in the 18th Century, the Gothic windows were bricked up the apparently preserved Gothic choir or amputated at different heights.
The high altar with a depiction of St. Peter and Paul Church Cartridge Paul Troger, and one of his students is attributed to the ceiling frescoes (1780) derived from Troger student Luke Stipperger. The Baroque organ was probably made around the year 1729 by the organ builder Casparides from Znojmo. Fallen memorial.
In the foyer of the church is a small memorial for the fallen soldiers during the Second World War and the nearby village populated Stallek originally German in the Czech Republic was established.
