Pauri Garhwal is a district in Uttarakhand state of India. Its headquarters is at Pauri. Pauri Garhwal district is ringed by Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Almora and Nainital districts from three sides. The southern boundary of Pauri Garhwal district touches with the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. This district falls partly in the Gangetic plains and a major part in the Himalayan North.Pauri proffers a diverse topography that varies from the foothills of the ‘Bhabar’ to the mind stilling paddocks of Dhudatoli. The majestic beauty of Himalayas in its muddle of wilds, the deep woods of odorous pines and deodars, blossoming rhododendrons along with rich flora and fauna, Pauri is spectacular in every way. Though its magnificent walkways never find its space in any of the tourism maps, the uphill and downhill stroll through the winding trails is simply superb, the joy of which could be exhilarating.
