Paspébiac may be a city on Baie des Chaleurs within the Gaspésie region of japanese Quebec, Canada. As of 2006, the population was three,309. The city is noted for the Banc DE Paspébiac, an oversized sand bar jutting out into the bay.
Paspébiac was Quebec’s 1st cod fishing port. The city conjointly has Portugese roots associated an accent that is completely different from the remainder of the region.[citation needed] Its name comes from the Mi’kmaq espression papgeg ipsigiag, that means “split flats” or “lagoon”.
