Parksville may be a town on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada. Dubbed by some the Jewel of Vancouver Island, it’s on route 19A, thirty seven kilometres north-west of town, forty eight kilometres east of Port Alberni and seven kilometres south-east of Qualicum Beach, between Englishman watercourse and French Creek.
Parksville is best renowned for its giant sandy beaches at Parksville Bay and Craig Bay. The city’s known annual event, since 1982, may be a sandcastle-building competition within the summer, dubbed “Parksville Beachfest”. Beachfest may be a World Championship Sand Sculpting official qualification event. Native media, businesses, and civil services ofttimes seek advice from Parksville, with its adjacent municipalities, because the community of “Oceanside”, usually as well as Qualicum Beach, French Creek, Coombs/Hilliers, Errington and Nanoose.
