The city of Parachute may be a Statutory city in us|United States President|President|Chief Executive} County, Colorado, United States. The population was one,006 at the 2000 census. The name comes from the looks on a map of many streams convergence on the city as do the shroud lines of a parachute combined with the arc of the ridge line higher than the streams that resembles the cover of a parachute. The city was antecedently named Grand natural depression.
