Paonta Sahib is a small hill destination in Himachal Pradesh. Located around 180 km from Shimla, the town is a popular religious destination, built in the memory of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. A large Gurudwara, located on the banks of River Yamuna is the main attraction here. Paonta Sahab is an upcoming industrial town. While pilgrims come here to pay their reverence to the Sikh guru, tourists flock here to catch a glimpse of the lot of antiques and weapons used by Guru Gobind Singh, which are displayed in the museum inside the Gurudwara.

Paonta Sahib is a major religious tourist’s destination in the Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. Every year, Paonta Sahib is visited by a large number of Sikh and Hindu pilgrims. The historical city of Paonta Sahib lies at a close vicinity to the Yamuna. Paonta Sahib houses the famous Gurudwara of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs. Paonta Sahib also attracts tourists from far and wide for its beautiful and majestic surrounding. Paonta Sahib lies on the national highway 73 that connects the city of Chandigarh with Dehradun. Paonta Sahib has frequent bus services connecting the small industrial town with other important cities nearby.

By Air : The airport at Jolly Grant is the nearest airport; located about 70 km from Paonta Sahib. Jubbarhatti Airport, situated about 145 km, is also a good option. It is well connected by flights to major cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Srinagar, etc. From the airport, taxis and buses are available to reach Paonta Sahib.

By Train : Dehradun is the nearest railhead, located about 45 km from Paonta Sahib. Trains from several cities like New Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai halt at the station. Taxi services are available from the station to get to Paonta Sahib.

By Bus : Paonta Sahib is well connected by road. Situated on NH-72, the town is well connected with Dehradun and Chandigarh. State-run buses do ply regularly from several cities of Himalchal Pradesh.
