Panajachel (Pana) may be a city within the southwestern Guatemalan Highlands, within the department of Solola. It is the executive centre for the encompassing municipality of an equivalent name.The city of Panajachel is found on the shore of Lake Atitlan, and has become a centre for the traveler trade of the world because it provides a base for guests crossing the lake to go to different cities and villages.Panajachel is home to several international non-profit organizations, like Mercado world and friendly relationship Bridge.
The city attracted several hippies within the Sixties, however the numbers of foreign guests plummeted throughout the Guatemalan warfare. When the war terminated, tourists started returning, and Panajachel’s economy is yet again based on business.
