Palenville may be a hamlet in writer County, New York, u. s.. Palenville is within the southwest a part of the city of Catskill, set at the junction of Routes 23A and 32A. It lies at the foot of Kaaterskill Clove, snuggled against the bottom of the Catskill Mountains. Kaaterskill Creek runs through the city, and is spanned by a regionally famed swinging pedestrian bridge. The creek provides variety of swimming holes within the summer months, and therefore the Long Path runs through the city.
