Located at Plaza España, Palacio de Justicia de Arequipa is a Peruvian courthouse representing the Superior Court Of Justice. This Government Palace of Justice building was constructed in 1980. It features beautifully colored stained glasses designed by the local artist Teodoro Nunez Rebaza. The square offers a blanket space to lawyers, litigants and protestants. It lies within the protected areas of the historic center but was however released by the Provincial Municipality as local space for public demonstrations.
