Detail InformationEdit

“The Courthouse is the seat of the Court of Justice of the State of São Paulo. It is located in the old center of São Paulo, between the Cathedral Square, the Praça João Mendes Jr. and Clovis Bevilácqua Square, near the Se Cathedral, the Palace Anchieta (seat of the Municipality of São Paulo ) and the Building Matarazzo ( seat of the Municipality of São Paulo). In its vicinity are also the headquarters of Sao Paulo’s sectional Order of Lawyers of Brazil and of the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo, and the Faculty of Law, University of São Paulo.
The building, built in the neoclassical style die- Baroque, was finally opened in 1933 and reopened in 1942, receiving tipping the CONDEPHAAT in 1981. The works suffered some setbacks, and these have been the greatest during the Paulista Revolt of 1924, which compounded by the death of the architect Ramos de Azevedo in 1928. This forced the Court to negotiate a new contract in 1929 with the successors of his office – Ricardo Severo and Arnaldo Dumont Vilares – through the Board of Public Works of the State, under the supervision of Dr. H. Forensic and which was also extended on April 26, 1931.”
