The Palace Theatre is Associate in Nursing diversion venue, in downtown Albany, New York, settled on the corner of Clinton Avenue (US 9) and North Pearl Street (NY 32). The 2,844 seat theater is closely-held by the town of Albany and presents varied music, drama, film and comedy performances. It’s home to the Albany symphony. At its gap, in October 1931, it had been the third largest movie within the World. Designed by John Eberson, The Palace is taken into account a superb example of the architect’s atmospherical theatres. In 1979 it had been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 9 years later it had been declared a tributary property to the Clinton Avenue Historic District.
The theater is on atiny low heap at the northwest corner of the intersection, simply north of downtown. It’s a brick and stone steel frame building in 2 sections. The front 2 stories, facing the corner and together with the marquee with a contemporary scrolling light-emitting diode show, area unit two-faced in tan brick with some stone ornamentation. The windows have lapidarian brackets. There area unit open pediments with cartouches and brick parapets with formed stone header.
