Our girl of Guadalupe Chapel could be a Roman church settled on bulwark Street in city, Louisiana. The rear of the church is lined by Basin Street. The church was inbuilt 1826 because the “Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua” (a.k.a. The Mortuary Chapel) to function a burial church for victims of black vomit. It had been erected near St. Louis Cemeteries one and a pair of, the first Catholic cemeteries at the time (St. Louis land site one is found directly behind the church, right across Basin Street). The place of worship is that the oldest extant place of worship in city (all the older churches have since been rebuilt). Since 1918, the church has been named Our girl of Guadalupe Chapel and has been staffed by the Missionary Oblates of female parent Immaculate.
