Named after the popular native tribe “Uru-Uru”, Oruro is said to be the folkloric capital of Bolivia. A traveler’s paradise, this city hosts some of the splendid Carnivals which are described as the amazing, artistic, cultural and indefinable positive feature of humankind. Also the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oruro, this city is home to the miners who worship the Virgin of El Socavon and El Tio.
