Opeinde (West Frisian: De Pein) is a village in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is a part of the municipality of Smallingerland, and lies about 5 km north of Drachten.This year the local council of Smallingerland decided to build a new neighbourhood in Opeinde with the help of The Crowds. Internetusers can leave their ideas for the new neighbourhood on a special website. The council wil decide which ideas will become reality early 2009.
