One Chase Manhattan Plaza may be a banking building set within the downtown Manhattan money District of recent royal family town, between Pine, Liberty, Nassau, and William Streets. Construction on the building was completed in 1961. It’s sixty floors, with five basement floors, and is 248 meters (813 ft) tall, creating it the fifteenth tallest building in big apple town, the forty third tallest within the us, and therefore the two hundredth tallest building within the World.
The building is constructed within the International vogue, with a white steel facade with black patterns slightly below the windows. Designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the building echoes the inland Steel Building in Chicago. An on the spot entrance to The Wall Street station (2 three trains) of the big apple town Subway is within the lobby.
The Chase Manhattan Bank president of that point, David John D. Rockefeller, this patriarch of the John D. Rockefeller family, was the primum mobile of the development and therefore the building’s location, notably as a result of several companies had touched uptown, and therefore the money District had languished as a result. One Chase Manhattan Plaza is presently occupied by the successor to the “Rockefeller Bank”, JPMorgan Chase & Co.
