Old St. The Virgin Church was in-built 1847, in urban center, Wisconsin, by the recent St. The Virgin Parish.The parish was based a year earlier, by German Catholic immigrants. Milwaukee, having been incorporated solely the year before, was still a young town at that point, and Wisconsin hadn’t nonetheless become a state. Old St. Mary’s is that the oldest church still standing within the town.
The church was designed by Victor Schulte, a Prussian migrant, UN agency designed 3 alternative spiritual buildings within the space. It’s created of Cream town brick. Its tower gained a clock on 1860 and 3 bells in 1868. These bronze bells were forged in Muenchen. Mass was hung on the most level, and a faculty was housed on the lower level till 1867. The carved picket main altar was purchased in 1848.
