Oconee Hill burial site is associate yank burial site in Athens, Georgia. The burial site opened in 1856 and is found simply off the University Of Georgia’s field. Oconee Hill burial site was purchased in 1855 by the {town|town} of Athens once more burials were prohibited within the recent town burial site toward land closely-held by the University of Georgia. In 1856, town shaped a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees to carry and manage in trust the first purchase of seventeen acres (69,000 m2) on the side of the North Oconee watercourse as a public burial site for the advantage of the city.
