Observation Post (Chota Kashmir) is tucked away inside the expansive parkland of the Aarey Milk Colony Goregaon East. You’ll find a small lake with row boats and paddle boats, attractive gardens and colourful flowers, lotus pond, and plenty of places to relax and enjoy some tea. The garden is lush green with colourful, blossoming flowers and tall, dense trees. One gets to see different types of birds here, therefore making it a good place for avid bird watchers to enjoy the rare view of exotic birds.The lake at ‘Chota Kashmir’ is the only place in Mumbai where one can enjoy the pleasure of fun boating activities. One can enjoy boating over here in row boats and paddle boats of different sizes, to suit your requirements. It is chargeable. Chota Kashmir is famous for being the location for the shooting of a lot of Hindi movies and songs. You are sure to catch a glimpse of the lake or the garden in a popular Bollywood number. This place is the perfect picnic spot for the entire family to come and spend a day in. There’s another popular garden a short distance away, aptly named the “Picnic Spot”, which is also an enjoyable place to relax.

Aarey Milk Colony, Aarey came in the existence in the year 1949. It is located very close to Powai, you have to pass Renaissance go under the bridge and cross the toll naka and you are in a green bliss called Aarey Milk Colony, here is a google map link. It is an area of greenery is spread over of 3160 acres.There are gardens, a nursery, lakes, an observation pavilion, picnic facilities, and milk plants. It is the last remaining place where citizens of Mumbai Suburbs can cycle, jog and breathe fresh air.On an average 16,000 cattle are reared on 1,287 hectares of land, and 32 cattle farms. Some of the attractions in Aarey Milk Colony are the Aarey Garden Restaurant, Chota Kashmir and the Boating rides and the Picnic Spot. There is an observation pavilion on a hill near the entrance to the colony from where one can survey an enchanting landscape.

Taxi : Metered taxis are a useful mode of transport in Mumbai. Since they are metered, they are economical and also relatively comfortable. Bus : BEST bus services are second most extensive intra city transport system. Mumbai has an excellent road transportation system. State owned buses connect Mumbai to all neighbouring points. Many Deluxe and Super Deluxe buses are available to travel in and out of the city. Bus fare is about Rs 3 to 4 per kilometer.
Train : Mumbai is the headquarters of Indian railway system. Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Station is the major one which connects all most parts of Indian cities to Mumbai. Other railway stations in Mumbai are Dadar and Kurla, and Churchgate. Suburban railway is the backbone of the transport system. Three main railway lines connect most of the city. Trains are always on time and economical, however they might be crowded in peak hours. The basic fare may range from 5 INR to 100 INR. The trains run from 4 am to 1pm, and there are trains arriving at the station every five minutes. It is also advisable to take care of valuables even in the first class section. Rush hour constitutes office timings from 8 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 7pm. The traveller should avoid the rush hour. Women travellers can make use of the separate women compartments and they might be less crowded than the general compartments.

Others : Auto richshaws: The auto rickshaws of Mumbai are the most common means of transport and are cheap also. they charge Rs 9 for the first 1.6 km and Rs 5 for km covered afterwards. The night charge is 25% more of the total charge. However, one needs to be careful as these auto rickshaws use longer routes in order to increase their fare amount.
