Oakmont may be a borough in Allegheny River County within the U.S. State of Pennsylvania. It’s a urban center community and a part of the urban center railway line space. The population was six,303 at the 2010 census. Incorporated as a city in 1889, this river community began in 1816 once a farmer, Michael Bright, bought an oversized tract of land fifteen miles (24 km) northeast of urban center. The settlement took its name from a landmark tree, because the deed description reads, “Beginning at a oak tree on the bank of the river …” The borough is best acknowledged for the close Oakmont club, a premier links that has been the positioning of various U.S. Opens.
