Nyoma or Nyama (also spelled Neoma) is a town located in Leh district of Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The town lies at a distance of 148.7 km from the city of Leh and is about 370 km distance from Srinagar, the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir. The town has an Advanced Landing Ground of Indian Airforce, which is proposed to be activated. In 18 September, 2009 the airfield was opened an AN 32 landed in this airfield. The region has no particular sites of tourist attractions apart from the small Buddhist Monastery on the hill at the bank of Nyoma town.Close to the Nyoma are the towns of Mahe and Rupshu which lies in the Leh-Loma-Hanle road on the banks of Indus River. Some of the villages that fall under Nyoma tehsil include Anlay, Chumanthang, Chumur, Hemya, Kharnak and Korzok. Since 2010 foreign tourists with inner line permits are allowed to visit the town of Nyoma which has a small Buddhist monastery on the hill at the bank of the town.
