The Nurpur fort is the main attraction of this small town. Originally built before the 10th century, it was the main seat of the Pathania Kings. It was destroyed partially by the British and the great earthquake which hit this region in April 1905 AD. Most of the fortress is in ruins, but it is still worth visiting. the theru wali mata temple is also a good place to see, which is situated on the top of a small hill and about 250 m from the Pathankot.

A historical destination, Nurpur Fort is one of the famous attractions in Pathankot. It was founded by Raja Basu and the temple is devoted to Lord Krishna. It is said that the black statue of Lord Krishna was gifted by a Rajasthani King to the King of Nurpur which is placed inside the temple.

Train : There are passenger trains to Pathankot. Further taxi is advisable because the distance is barely 25 km and will take only 30 minutes to reach Nurpur.
Air : Flights to Chandigarh, Jammu and Dharamshala are available. There are taxi’s available at the airport that will directly go to Nurpur. Advance booking for taxi is advised.
