Norfolk County may be a rural city-status single-tier municipality on the north shore of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The seat and largest community is Simcoe. Norfolk’s history has been closely related to that of the close Haldimand County. Metropolis was 1st created as a county in 1792. In 1800, Haldimand was fashioned from some of metropolis. The 2 counties remained separate till 1974, once they were united because the Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk.
