Newberry may be a town in Newberry County, South geographic area, within the Piedmont forty three miles (69 km) northwest of Columbia. The charter was adopted in 1894. The population was ten,277 at the 2010 census. The seat of Newberry County, at just the once it had been referred to as Newberry Courthouse. Newberry became a town in 1976, however didn’t report the amendment to the office for over twenty-five years. As a result, city|town} was listed as a town within the 2000 census.
