The New-York Historical Society is Associate in Nursing yankee history repository and library situated in the big apple town at the corner of 77th Street and Central Park West in Manhattan. Based in 1804 as New York’s 1st repository, the New-York Historical Society presents exhibitions, public programs and analysis that explore the made history of recent royal family and also the nation.
The New-York Historical Society repository & Library has been at its gift location since 1908. The granite building was designed by royal family & Sawyer in a very classic Roman Eclectic vogue. Renovation of its landmark building was completed in Nov 2011 that makes the building a lot of hospitable the general public, provides house for Associate in Nursing interactive children’s repository, and different changes to boost access to its collections.
Since 2004, the president of the Historical Society has been Louise Mirrer, WHO was antecedently government administrator for educational Affairs of town University of recent royal family. Starting in 2005, the repository bestowed a groundbreaking biennial exhibit on Slavery in the big apple, its largest theme exhibition in two hundred years, on a subject it had ne’er addressed before. It enclosed Associate in Nursing art exhibit by artists invited to use repository collections in their works.
